Center for the Study of Trauma and Resilience

The Trauma and PTSD Program, in the Anxiety Disorders Clinic at the Department of Psychiatry and The New York State Psychiatric Institute, is committed to improving the lives of people affected by trauma and bereavement.

Our team of dedicated clinicians, research scientists, and staff uphold our mission by:

  1. Conducting clinical studies to improve the effects of new treatments for individuals with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), prolonged grief, and other trauma-related disorders.
  2. Advancing the study of individual and group response to extreme traumatic events, including disasters, terrorism, and war.
  3. Fostering state-of-the-art research of the psychobiological underpinnings of trauma-related disorders and resilience.
