Overview
Leah Hotchkiss, Psy.D, is an Assistant Professor of Medical Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center. She is a licensed clinical psychologist in the Lieber Recovery Clinic. Dr. Hotchkiss graduated from University of California, Berkeley with a B.A. in English Literature. She received her Psy.D. in clinical psychology from the PGSP-Stanford Psy.D. Consortium. Dr. Hotchkiss completed her predoctoral internship at the Downtown Los Angeles Veterans Affairs Medical Center where she trained in the PTSD clinic and women's health clinic. She completed her postdoctoral supervision at the Sacramento Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Throughout graduate school Dr. Hotchkiss trained primarily in specialized gender and sexuality and women's health settings. She completed her dissertation in postpartum medical trauma at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford. Dr. Hotchkiss primarily utilizes mindfulness-based therapies including Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. She is committed to improving mental healthcare for stigmatized patient populations
