Overview

Dr. Resnick attended Yale University, where she graduated magna cum laude with distinction in the major and was inducted into Psi Chi National Honor Society for psychology. Following her undergraduate studies, she received her M.D. degree at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. She completed her residency in Adult Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania Health System, while simultaneously pursuing a fellowship in psychoanalytic training at the Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia. During her training, Dr. Resnick received the Outstanding Junior Attending Award from the Veterans Affairs Medical Center and The University of Pennsylvania for “Compassionate Outstanding Clinical Care of Patients and Exemplary Teaching of Medical Students and Trainees.” Following her residency,

Dr. Resnick completed a fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry at the Columbia University College of Physicians/Weill Cornell School of Medicine joint training program. She currently serves as the Chief of Forensic Psychiatry at Mid-Hudson Forensic Psychiatric Hospital and has a private practice in both general and forensic psychiatry. In addition to her clinical and administrative responsibilities, Dr. Resnick is involved in education, and supervises psychiatric residents and forensic fellows in training and is the Associate Program Director for the Columbia/Cornell Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship. Dr. Resnick received the Award for Outstanding Teaching in Psychiatry last year at Weill Cornell, and currently holds academic appointments at Columbia in the Department of Psychiatry, Ethics and the Law and at Cornell, in both the Department of Psychiatry and the Department of Medicine. Dr. Resnick welcomes new patients and is available for diagnostic consultations, medication management, psychotherapy and combined treatment. She treats patients with a broad variety of challenges, including depression, anxiety and adjustment problems.
