Accelerated Aging in PTSD

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between aging processes and PTSD, which may help identify novel therapeutic targets to promote healthier aging trajectories for individuals with PTSD. Participants will complete the following visits: one evaluation visit (virtual), and two in-person study visits (if eligible): a research visit (neuropsychological assessments, self-report forms) and an MRI scan. The entire study can be completed in 3-4 days (not consecutive). This study is recruiting participants aged 50+ who have experienced a traumatic event.

  • Ages 50+ years
  • Trauma exposed healthy controls
  • Trauma exposed with PTSD
  • 3 visits (Evaluation, Memory Testing, MRI)
  • Compensation: up to $300.00

PTSD/MDD Treatment Study

This study is recruiting participants who completed the study above (Accelerated Aging in PTSD) who are currently depressed and are looking for treatment. Participants in this study will take an antidepressant medication for 8-weeks. Most of the study visits will be completed virtually, although a few in-person visits will be required for the evaluation process, and for completion of a research visit (neuropsychological assessments, self-report forms).

  • Ages 50+ years
  • Trauma exposed with depression
  • Antidepressant Medication Treatment for 8 weeks with Escitalopram or Duloxetine, with biweekly study visits
  • Compensation: up to $200.00
