Mission Statement

The mission of the Columbia Public Psychiatry Fellowship is to train post residency psychiatrists to become clinical and administrative leaders in the field of Public/Community Psychiatry and to serve people with behavioral health needs that require more complex levels of care.


  1. To train public psychiatrists who will have leadership roles in organizations, programsand clinical settings and transform the health care delivery system.
  2. To include patient centered, recovery oriented systems based practice informed care in the education of behavioral health providers across the spectrum of training.
